For everyone in Paris — or just passing through — who wants to do something today and find the right person to do it with.
Launching May 19 — Be the first to know
Who it's for
Whimsly is for people who love Paris but hate planning. Whether you just moved here or you've been here twenty years — spontaneity shouldn't require a group chat.
You moved to Paris and your social circle is still loading. You want company for the things you already love doing.
You've lived here for years but your friends are always busy. You want to grab wine with someone interesting — tonight.
You're in Paris for a week and you want real experiences, not tourist traps. A local's gallery pick beats a guidebook every time.
You love hosting. A jazz bar, a rooftop, a hidden garden — you want to share your favorite spots with new people.
Why Whimsly was born
"I was sitting at a café in Le Marais with a free afternoon and no one to share it with. Not because I don't have friends — but because everyone was busy, or needed a week's notice, or lived across the city."
"I thought: there must be someone within a kilometer who also wants company right now. Someone who'd love to explore that new gallery, or grab wine by the canal, or just sit in the sun and talk."
But there was no way to find them. Dating apps? Wrong energy. Social media? Too performative. Group chats? Too slow.
So we built the thing we wished existed: a way to act on a whim — and find the right person to do it with.
And we made sure you're always in control. You decide the size — a quiet 1:1 coffee or a group of 10 for a rooftop picnic. Filter by gender, age group, or vibe. Choose your whim, set your preferences, and approve every single person who joins. No surprises. No awkward mismatches. Just two sides choosing each other — a genuine win‑win every time.
The name Whimsly comes from that exact idea. Doing something on a whim. Spontaneous. Unplanned. The best kind of afternoon.
Why Whimsly
Good company for a Tuesday afternoon. A gallery visit with someone new. A conversation over wine. That is what we are here for.
Every whim posted is a small act of bringing Paris to life. You are not just filling your afternoon. You are making the city the kind of place where interesting things happen.
Location stays private until both sides say yes. Every spot is public. You approve who joins. These are not policies. They are features.
No algorithm decides who you meet. No one gets your location without your approval. Every step of every whim is yours to direct.
How it works
Tell Paris what you feel like right now. Set how many people, any preference, or open to everyone.
No one just shows up. Hosts approve every request. Guests wait to be welcomed in. Both sides choose.
Location shared only after both sides say yes. Always public. Always mutual.
See it in action
